How to tune in to Cape Town TV

CTV is a free-to-air channel - in other words anyone in our transmitter range can tune into us without the need for a set top box or a decoder. You will find Cape Town TV on the UHF band. Press Menu on your TV or remote control; go to the Search function; let it search on the UHF band; press Stop when you see the Cape Town TV channel; store the channel.

Our signal is coming to you from the Tygerberg transmitter site - so if you can see Tygerberg hill and your antenna is pointing that way it will be plain sailing - all you need to do is to retune your television set. Other areas close by may also be able to look at our signal which is on the UHF band, and beaming to the greater Cape Town area.

See the coverage map below to find out if you will be able to receive the signal (blue area on map). Those areas not in line-of-sight of Tygerberg Mountain will not be able to receive it - e.g. areas such as Camps Bay, Llundudno, Hout Bay, Stellenbosch, Malmsbury etc. will not receive it.

PRESS RELEASE: New Television Series To Bring The Jumuah Lecture Into The Home.

With the ever increasing need to have more Islamic content on television in South Africa, comes the announcement of a new series entitled “The Friday Sermon” which now sees the Friday lecture, a part of the Jumuah proceedings being broadcasted on CTV, the regional Cape Town Television station, every Friday at 14h00.

The 30-minute program is the creation of FSMA Television & Film Production Specialists. According to Producer and Host Faizal Sayed, the program was designed as a service to the Muslim and broader community to bring the lectures from different Mosques to a viewer who cannot attend Friday Prayers and those who would in addition to attending the Jumuah proceeding watch one from a different mosque via television.

CTV, the regional television channel, who is now back on air is to broadcast the series every week which goes on air with the first episode starting on Friday the 16th of October 2009

“The series is really aimed to be a service to the people and at the same time ensure that a message of religious tolerance, unity and morality is received by the viewer says Sayed the series producer who has also moved into the political arena.

Many challenges are faced during the filming process as one is dealing with huge crowds in mosques on Fridays, but thus far people have been very happy about the series and accommodating, according to Production Manager Ahmed Mohamed of FSMA.

More information on The Friday Sermon is available on www.FSMA.co.za as well as on a Facebook group called “The Friday Sermon on CTV”. For any program related enquiries feel free to email info@FSMA.co.za
